Fridays at the University Bannatyne Campus Program 2024 – 2025
This series consists of eight (8) full day sessions held online. The sessions are targeted toward urban and rural family physicians, Royal College fellows, and other primary care health providers. Fridays at the University offers approximately 44 hours of high value, impactful lectures and skills workshops throughout the academic year. Note: the skills workshops are not included in the annual fee.
Annual Registrants may attend any/all of the eight sessions below and in doing so, earn up to 36 credits.
If you do not wish to register as an annual registrant, you may select a single session ticket for each session date that you would like to attend.
Objectives
At the end of this educational activity, participants will be able to:
- Apply diagnosis and management strategies to a variety of medical conditions that are relevant to primary care practice. (Medical Expert)
- Evaluate the literature that is presented on timely research and guidelines that support evidence-based medicine. (Scholar)
- Communicate risks and benefits to determine best practices on a range interventions with patients and their families. (Communicator, Collaborator, Health Advocate)
- Recognize barriers to change and apply innovative strategies to overcome these barriers. (Medical Expert, Health Advocate, Communicator)
- Identify and address topic-relevant societal needs using principles of inclusivity and equity. (Health Advocate, Professional)
- Identify clinical scenarios that require team-based or collaborative care. (Collaborator, Professional)
- Integrate self-directed learning and resource stewardship tools into daily practice. (Scholar, Leader)

All sessions will be held online only, via Livestream. Stable internet connection is required. Connection details will be emailed to registered participants ~24 hours prior to each event date. Physician Single Session Fee – $175.00
Nurse/Other Health Professional Single Session Fee – $75.00
Resident/Student Single Session Fee – $30.00

Registration also provides access to the recording and resources post event. Recordings will be accessible in your CPD account ~ 7-14 days after the session date. All recordings will be available for viewing until August 31, 2025.
Study Credits
This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been approved by the CPD Medicine Program, University of Manitoba for up to 6.5 Mainpro+ credits.
This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the CPD Medicine Program, University of Manitoba for a maximum of 6.5 hours.
Participants should only claim credit for the actual number of hours attended.
The University of Manitoba CPD Medicine Program is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME).
As Per CPD Medicine policy, the department requires any refund or cancelation request to be submitted in writing up to fourteen (14) days prior to the program or session start date . A $50 administrative fee will be withheld to cover transaction and administrative costs. Refund or cancelation requests made less than fourteen (14) days notice may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
