0830 – 0920    Intergenerational impact on chronic disease in the Indigenous population – Dr. Sara Goulet

0920 – 1010    Indigenous Health and Palliative Care – Dr. Timothy Hiebert

1010 – 1100    Chronic Kidney Disease in the Indigenous – Dr. Andrea Mazurat

1220 – 1310     Indigenous Health and Wellness – Elder Margaret Lavallee

Objectives

  • Recognize the impact of intergenerational experience on chronic disease in the Indigenous population (Leader, Health Advocate)
  • Appreciate an approach to palliative care within the Indigenous population (Medical expert, Collaborator)
  • Interpret the disproportionate prevalence of CKD and disease burden among the Indigenous population (Medical expert, communicator, scholar)
  •  Appreciate an approach to the traditional health and wellness within the Indigenous population (Collaborator, Communicator)
  •  Recognize racism and critically self-reflect on how to promote culturally safe environment for practice. (Leader, Professional)

Registration

Physicians: $175
Other health professionals: $65
Residents/students: $30

This event is available via livestream. You will be emailed connection information prior to the event. This event is also available via MBTelehealth sites throughout Winnipeg and Manitoba. Please check your site for availability and reserve prior to registering.

Only paid registrants can receive credits and access speakers’ presentations post-event.
