Description:

This session will focus on exploring assessment in an online environment.  We will discuss practical methods to adapt existing assessments, including ways to help maintain assessment integrity and safeguard against plagiarism. We will critically examine various options for online assessment and explore creative solutions. As the pivot online adds new pressures to learners and educators, we will consider how student wellness can be incorporated into assessment planning. The session will also focus integrating formative assessment practices that foster learning over the term and the need for integrating programmatic assessment.  At the end of this session, we will revisit the curriculum map and course outline, to ensure that course and program goals are met, and that any new assessment practices are mapped to the course objectives.

Learning Objectives:

  • Develop an assessment plan for an online course that promotes student learning and wellness
  • Evaluate curricula to ensure alignment between goals, objectives, and assessments

Facilitators:  Ryan Day & Steve Yurkiw
