58th Annual Manitoba Orthopaedic Symposium 2018
Description:
The annual Manitoba Orthopaedic Symposium provides a forum for discussion of the latest management of orthopaedic problems. The topics are designed to appeal to a broad audience and to include all aspects of non-operative and operative musculoskeletal care and rehabilitation. It is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and abilities of those participants who have an interest in these issues. In 2018, the Manitoba Orthopaedic Symposium will cover essential topics in pediatric orthopaedics, arthroplasty, and upper extremity. Additional talks will also cover subjects in rehabilitation, pain management and 3-D surgical templating.
This event/program will be of interest to:
Orthopaedic Surgeons, Physicians, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Athletic Therapists, Residents and Medical Students.
Objectives:
To review and discuss topics of importance in the care of the orthopaedic patient, or patients with a musculoskeletal injury. To discuss and review methods to improve teamwork between various musculoskeletal care providers.
Review of topics in the orthopaedic fields of upper extremity, pediatrics, and foot and ankle.
To review methods to improve teamwork in the care of musculoskeletal patients.
To review the role of opioids in the treatment of musculosckeletal disorders.
Review of upper extremity, arthroplasty and foot & ankle topics.
Accreditation:
This event was co-developed with the CPD Medicine Program, University of Manitoba and was planned to achieve scientific integrity, objectivity and balance.
This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been approved by the CPD Medicine Program, University of Manitoba for up to 9.0 Mainpro+ credits.
This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the CPD Medicine Program, University of Manitoba for a maximum of 9.25 hours.
Participants should only claim credit for the actual number of hours attended.
