Description

Early detection and treatment of periodontal and peri-implant disease is critical to maintenance of health. But in today’s busy practice, the challenge is time! We need to come up with creative ways to utilize every team member’s particular expertise in order to deliver the same message across the board.

This lecture introduces simple in-office protocols to efficiently pinpoint the at-risk patients and sites and will outline a plan on how to optimize the expertise of the dental team to create a win-win situation for the dentist, the hygienist and the patient.

By boosting workplace morale and creating an elevated working environment we are sure to improve work satisfaction for all team members that will in turn lead to better patient and team retention.

Learning Objectives

  • Discuss ways to empower your hygiene team into doing more than just “cleaning”.
  • Understanding the value of a periodontal probe as a diagnostic tool in everyday clinical practice.
  • Diagnosis of localized periodontal defects with clinical and radiographic correlation.
  • Treatment consideration of periodontal defects.
  • Review of Peri-implant and Periodontal maintenance protocols in general practice.
