Objectives

At the end of this educational event, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize, diagnose and support patients who may benefit from PrEP, or who are infected with HIV (Medical Expert, Communicator, Collaborator)
  • Identify the risks inherent in a needlestick injury, and what prophylactics and followups are required (Medical Expert)
  • Diagnose and prevent recurrent UTIs, CDI, and HCV (Communicator, Medical Expert)
  • Apply the diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for acute and chronic prostatitis (Communicator, Medical Expert)
  • Manage the care of infections in individuals who use injection drugs (Health Advocate, Communicator, Collaborator)
  • Assess and treat new Canadians for common infectious agents and provide support (Health Advocate, Communicator)
  • Recognize infections and conditions that disproportionately affect people without access to suitable housing (Health Advocate)
  • Identify the indications and contraindications of new vaccines available in Manitoba (Scholar)
  • Apply diagnostic, prevention and treatment strategies for travel-related conditions (Medical Expert, Communicator)

Per CPD Medicine policy, the department requires any refund or cancelation request to be submitted in writing up to 14 days before an event. A $50 administrative fee will be withheld to cover transaction and administrative costs. Refund or cancelation requests made less than 14 days before an event may be considered on a case-by-case basis
