Objectives
At the end of this educational event, participants will be able to:
- Recognize, diagnose and support patients who may benefit from PrEP, or who are infected with HIV (Medical Expert, Communicator, Collaborator)
- Identify the risks inherent in a needlestick injury, and what prophylactics and followups are required (Medical Expert)
- Diagnose and prevent recurrent UTIs, CDI, and HCV (Communicator, Medical Expert)
- Apply the diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for acute and chronic prostatitis (Communicator, Medical Expert)
- Manage the care of infections in individuals who use injection drugs (Health Advocate, Communicator, Collaborator)
- Assess and treat new Canadians for common infectious agents and provide support (Health Advocate, Communicator)
- Recognize infections and conditions that disproportionately affect people without access to suitable housing (Health Advocate)
- Identify the indications and contraindications of new vaccines available in Manitoba (Scholar)
- Apply diagnostic, prevention and treatment strategies for travel-related conditions (Medical Expert, Communicator)
