Many faculty and instructors are well-versed in the importance of promoting learner engagement as part of their teaching practice. However, there can be different considerations in planning for learner engagement to take place during one individual session, and planning for learner engagement as an ongoing theme throughout a series of sessions, a unit, or a course. In this session, we will address designing curriculum to promote learner engagement through the following objectives:

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify similarities and differences for designing a session for learner engagement and designing curriculum for learner engagement
  • Discuss principles of adult education and how they relate to curriculum design and learner engagement
  • Identify some common challenges of designing/implementing curriculum to promote learner engagement and discuss possible ways to address those challenges

Facilitators: Chelsea Jalloh
