How to Give a Great Talk: Lectures and Beyond – September 20, 2022 (webinar)
Whether it is a lecture, grand rounds, or a keynote presentation, being able to design and deliver a “great talk” is a valuable skill. In this session, participants will learn about key features of a good talk, such as building a talk’s structure; incorporating active learning strategies into a talk; and important considerations such as an intentional opening/closing and use of repetition. If you are new to delivering talks, or looking to build upon your existing experience, this session will share practical tips you can apply to move your talks from “good” to “great”.
Following completion of this session, participants will be able to:
- Describe the key features of a great lecture/talk
- Identify appropriate active learning strategies
- Prepare an effective lecture
