Humanity Meets Technology: In Your Shoes Web Browser Application – March 23, 2022
We live in challenging times. We see perspectives that vary on how to ‘live with Covid-19’ and ‘how we should respond to social movements’ such as the Black Lives Matter and the residential school crisis. As global citizens, we are called upon to empathically appreciate perspectives that may not be our own. Also spurred by the pandemic, there is a growing worldwide movement in education toward remote learning using technology – including how we teach empathic communication. We created a novel perspective-taking video-feedback intervention called In Your Shoes adapted from work by Dr. William Ickes (1990, 1993). This presentation will focus on experimental learning and testing how good you are at perspective-taking.
