Lessons from a Teaching Experiment Allowing Students to use ChatGPT with Dr. Kim Mitchell – October 24, 2023 (Zoom)
Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing, Kim Mitchell, allowed students to use Chat GPT in a major writing assignment in her Evidence Based Practice course. In this presentation you will hear about the kind of mindset required to allow students to use ChatGPT to assist their writing as well as the nature of the assignment that the students were allowed to experiment with. The students wrote reflections when they handed in their paper which described the areas which ChatGPT was useful and not useful in their assignment experience. This presentation will share insights from the students’ experience and provide food for thought for the context in which ChatGPT can be incorporated worry free into the classroom environment.
Facilitator: Dr. Kim Mitchell, Assistant Professor, College of Nursing
Zoom link will be emailed to attendees prior to the workshop.
