Neonatal Resuscitation Program NRP – March 7, 2022
*As part of our efforts to ensure the health and safety of our community, staff, students and faculty, and in alignment with University of Manitoba policy. Effective September 27, 2021, we will accept certain Canadian vaccination cards in addition to the MB Vaccination card or MB QR code for access to the campus. CPD Event attendees without swipe card access may access the Bannatyne campus via the Brodie Centre main doors, 727 McDermot Avenue from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm. You must have a vaccination card or QR code to enter the University. UM requires that masks be worn, and physical distancing to be practiced. Please contact the CPD office regarding any concerns.**
PROGRAM DELIVERY:
THERE IS A MANDATORY ONLINE EXAM TO TAKE PRIOR TO ATTENDING THE PROGRAM
COMPONENT 1 | Pre-course Preparation
Self-directed study is required. Text books are purchased separately from the exam fee. This is followed by an online (independent) exam to be completed prior to the didactical portion. Exams not taken within this time frame will become invalid and the learner will be required to purchase another exam and restart the process.
Certificate of exam completion: This will become available online upon completion of the online exam and confirms your ability to participate in the workshop Component 2. Learners must provide, by seven days before the session date, the confirmation certificate stating successful completion of the online exam. Failure to provide this document denies access to the workshop without refund. Please email the certification to amanda.marten@umanitoba.ca
COMPONENT 2 | On-site
This is an ADVANCED course! The workshop consists of integrated skills station and team-based scenarios. Upon successful completion, a Completion Card will be presented from the CPS. This card does not imply clinical competence in this area, but indicates participation and completion of the course.

NRP Online exam
The 8th Edition exam has two levels of learning ( both are required). Complete the online NRP exam within 30 days of the in-person course
- Essentials (Lessons 1-4) uses an adaptive learning format which adapts the learning experience to each individual learner.
- Advanced (Lessons 1-11) uses an adaptive learning format and the standard MCQ format.
Learners have unlimited attempts to pass the exam; a passing mark is 80% in each section. Upon successful completion of the exam, the online certificate of completion will appear under “My Certificates”. CPS has access to exam data so there is no need to send in your certificate; simply keep a copy for your records.
