Skills Workshop 2021 2022 CBT Primer

A case-based, hands-on workshop that will enhance your ability to incorporate cognitive therapy techniques in everyday practice.

Objectives:

At the conclusion of this learning event, participants will be able to:

• Explain the evidence that supports the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in primary care
• List the clinical conditions for which CBT is indicated
• Explore the CBT techniques that are useful in the primary care setting
• Apply the CBT techniques in a standardized patient interview based on two different clinical scenarios

Registrants must complete the following required documentation:

• Needs Assessment
• Session Evaluation
• Mainpro+ Post-reflective Activity

These documents will be sent to registrants via email.

Registration

Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Other Health Professions: $200.00

As Per CPD Medicine policy, the department requires any refund or cancelation request to be submitted in writing up to fourteen (14) days prior to the program or session start date . A $50 administrative fee will be withheld to cover transaction and administrative costs. Refund or cancelation requests made less than fourteen (14) days notice may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

This event is not available via MBTelehealth sites throughout Winnipeg and Manitoba and also not available via livestream.

Only paid registrants can receive credits and access speakers’ presentations post-event.

Credits:

Please be advised, in accordance with the new Mainpro+ standards, the College of Family Physicians of Canada requires that all participants are obliged to complete a post-reflective activity within 30 days of the activity in order to claim three credits per hour for the Skills Workshop. This post-reflective exercise will be emailed to participants the day of the activity.

CFPC

This three-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been approved by the CPD Medicine Program, University of Manitoba for up to 6.0 Mainpro+ credits.

Section 3 SIM

This activity is an Accredited Simulation Activity (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of The Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the CPD Medicine Program, University of Manitoba on February 12, 2020 and expires February 12, 2023. Remember to visit MAINPORT to record your learning and outcomes. You may claim a maximum of 2.0 hours (credits are automatically calculated).

Participants should only claim credit for the actual number of hours attended.

The University of Manitoba CPD Medicine Program is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME).
