Description
This popular simulation-based workshop will focus on intra-articular and soft tissue injection techniques.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this learning event, participants will be able to:
- Explain the indications, contraindications and complications of joint injections with their patient
- Evaluate best medical evidence to identify which medications to use for intra articular joint injections
- Perform an examination of a knee and shoulder joint to assess joint markers for safe injection
- Demonstrate an intra articular injection of the knee and shoulder joint on a simulations model

- Mainpro+ Post-reflective Activity
These documents will be sent to registrants via email or handed out during the event.
Registration
Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Other Health Professions: $200.00
As Per CPD Medicine policy, the department requires any refund or cancelation request to be submitted in writing up to fourteen (14) days prior to the program or session start date . A $50 administrative fee will be withheld to cover transaction and administrative costs. Refund or cancelation requests made less than fourteen (14) days notice may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
This event is not available via MBTelehealth sites throughout Winnipeg and Manitoba and also not available via livestream.
Only paid registrants can receive credits and access speakers’ presentations post-event.
Credits
Please be advised, in accordance with the new Mainpro+ standards, the College of Family Physicians of Canada requires that all participants are obliged to complete a post-reflective activity within 30 days of the activity in order to claim three credits per hour for the Skills Workshop. This post-reflective exercise will be emailed to participants the day of the activity.
CFPC
This three-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been approved by the CPD Medicine Program, University of Manitoba for up to 6.0 Mainpro+ credits.
Participants should only claim credit for the actual number of hours attended.
The University of Manitoba CPD Medicine Program is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME).
