ID#190883-025 This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity {Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the CPD Medicine Program, University of Manitoba for a maximum of 1.5 hours. Participants should only claim credit for the actual number of hours attended. The University of Manitoba CPD Medicine Program is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME).

Description:

The focus of this workshop will be adapting teaching for online delivery using asynchronous methods. There will also be a review of technological tools that faculty can use in delivering their content. Active learning strategies that can be utilized in an online setting that promote deep learning will be explored and discussed.

Learning Objectives:

  • evaluate technological tools that support active learning that can be delivered asynchronously
  • develop learning materials that promote active learning, student interaction, and engagement, for asynchronous delivery
