Teaching Trauma-Informed Care – February 27, 2025 (Zoom)
Most people have experienced trauma. Trauma impacts the way people think, feel, behave, and relate to the world around them. In medicine, trauma-informed care is about taking universal precautions with all patients. Learn more about trauma-informed care, and how to effectively teach the approach with medical learners. This train-the-trainer workshop shares teaching tips, tools, and supplemental resources that will enable you to teach medical learners how to approach trauma-informed care with all patients in a range of health care settings.
- Learning Objectives:
- Upon completion of this session, you will be able to teach others to:
- Explain the effects of trauma at individual, family, and community levels; and
- Suggest ways to integrate a trauma-informed care approach in clinical practice settings.
