The Art of Facilitating Clinical Simulation Learning Experiences – (In Person and Webinar) – January 14, 2020
Description:
Simulation as a teaching pedagogy is becoming commonplace in health professions education. In order to make the most of this teaching strategy, educators need to have an understanding of how to facilitate in this learning environment. What kind of preparation do the learners need? What should I include in the prebriefing? To prompt or not to prompt? These are common questions that both new and experienced simulation educators may have, and will be discussed in this session.
Objectives:
• Identify the phases of the simulation learning experience.
• Apply concepts of psychological safety to simulation.
• Explain the purpose of prompts or cues used in simulation based learning.
• Outline techniques that may be used to facilitate simulation based learning.
Facilitator:
Nicole Harder
