Translator Please! Adapting your Teaching Practice for the iGen
Generational differences are the subject of much popular speculation and debate. Although defining the generations is not an exact science, understanding their main characteristics can help manage generational differences in the clinical setting.
Learning objectives:
- Identify and define the generations in the clinical environment (includes patients!) with a particular focus on the iGen (those born after 1994)
- Compare and contrast the values and the potential outcomes of generational interaction.
- Compare and identify differing feedback styles and their impact.
- Offer strategies for effective cross-generational teaching and learning.
Facilitator: Dr. Joanne Hamilton, Director, Office of Innovation and Scholarship in Medical Education
