Working with a Clinical Learner with Problems (WEBINAR) – June 16, 2020
Description:
Clinical teachers often work with learners whom they find challenging or “difficult.” However, we all view learners’ problems differently, and whether we label a learner as a “problem” depends on many factors. Some of us may have encountered struggling learners and perceived them as challenging or difficult; others may not. This workshop describes an approach to identifying, diagnosing, and working with learners with problems.
By the end of the session the participant will be able to
- apply a framework to diagnose a problem learner,
- identify strategies for working with a problem learner, and
- describe how to manage reactions to difficult feedback.
